01At a glance

About 47 km between the two airports. Drive time is 40–50 minutes off-peak and 60–120 minutes during rush hour, routed through the Don Mueang Tollway and Sirat Expressway. For connecting flights, plan at least a 3-hour total layover. A private chauffeur transfer starts from THB 3,000, confirmed before booking.

02The route in plain numbers

DMK sits in the north of Bangkok. BKK is on the eastern edge of the city. Connecting them is a straight shot down two expressways — the Don Mueang Tollway leads from DMK to the Sirat Expressway, which runs east toward BKK. With clear traffic, the drive is closer to 40 minutes; with Bangkok midday traffic, expect 60 to 120. The two airports do not share a free shuttle from any terminal — every option, public or private, takes you out of one terminal and into the other separately.

03Bangkok rush hour windows that affect DMK ↔ BKK

Bangkok rush hour windows that affect DMK to BKK transfer — morning rush 06:30 to 09:30, evening rush 16:00 to 19:30

Pick the right travel window and you cut drive time in half. A 05:00 or late-night pickup between the airports is 40 minutes; a 18:00 pickup over the same route can stretch to 120.

Mornings, DMK → BKK runs into Vibhavadi-Rangsit congestion as commuters head into the city. Evenings, BKK → DMK hits the Sirat Expressway outbound wave as commuters head home.

Rain, end-of-month payday, or the day before a long weekend — add 30–50% on top of the rush-hour estimate.

04Where pickup and drop-off happen

At Suvarnabhumi (BKK) arrivals, your chauffeur waits on Level 2 near the rear gates — typically Gates 7, 8 or 9 — or on Level 4 (Departures, Gates 7–10) on peak days like Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons, and holidays. The full step-by-step with photos is in our Suvarnabhumi arrival pickup guide.

At Don Mueang (DMK) arrivals, your chauffeur waits curbside near Exit 5–6 (Terminal 1, international) or Exit 11–12 (Terminal 2, domestic). See our Don Mueang arrival pickup guide for the meeting point map and walking flow.

For BKK departures, drop-off is on Level 4 at the gate nearest your check-in counter — if you are claiming a Thailand VAT refund, mention it at booking and we shift to Gate 10 (see our VAT refund drop-off guide).

DMK departures drop at the curb closest to your airline check-in row.

05Your transfer options

A private chauffeur gives you a named meeting point, fixed fare, flight tracking, and 60 minutes of free airport waiting after landing — best for connecting flights, late-night arrivals, and family or business groups.

Metered taxis are available at both airports; fares are metered plus tolls (paid in cash) and a fixed airport surcharge.

The scheduled airport limousine bus runs between the two airports every 30–60 minutes and is the cheapest option per seat, though it stops at multiple pickup points and is not built for tight connections.

Public transport (BTS or MRT with airport-bound trains or buses) involves multiple changes and is not practical with luggage.

06Planning timing for a connecting flight

If your itinerary lands at one airport and departs from the other on the same day, you are doing a self-transfer — the airlines treat the two flights as separate bookings, and the timing is on you.

Plan at least 3 hours total between flights: 45–60 minutes for immigration and baggage (15–30 for domestic), 40–120 minutes for the drive depending on traffic, and 60–90 minutes for check-in and security at the departure airport, with a margin for the unpredictable.

For tighter connections under 2.5 hours, contact dispatch before booking and we will tell you honestly whether the timing is realistic.

If your incoming flight is delayed, the chauffeur tracks the flight number and adjusts pickup automatically. There is no surcharge for delays — the 60 minutes of free waiting extends as needed.

Inter-airport connection timing: 3 hours total — immigration 45 to 60 minutes, drive 40 to 120 minutes, check-in 60 to 90 minutes, plus margin

07How a SabaiRide inter-airport transfer works

Book online at least 3 hours before pickup. You receive a confirmation email with the named meeting point, your chauffeur's name and contact, and the fixed fare. The chauffeur tracks your flight from booking through landing and adjusts pickup time automatically.

On landing, you walk to the meeting point — your chauffeur waits with an A4 sign showing your name and SabaiRide. Luggage loaded, expressway in a few minutes; the cabin has Wi-Fi, USB-C charging, and bottled water. Drop-off at the departure gate nearest your check-in counter.

The current primary vehicle is the ZEEKR 009 Executive Black, a private electric MPV. The cabin seats up to 5 — one front seat, two captain seats, and two rear seats. With three passengers, the rear row converts to luggage space (up to four large 28-inch suitcases). With five passengers, up to two large suitcases fit, plus cabin bags.

08Practical tips

Book at least 3 hours before pickup, with your flight number in the booking.

For tight connections under 2.5 hours, contact dispatch first — we will be honest about whether the timing is realistic.

Add a stop only if it is under 15 minutes; multiple stops or extended waits convert to our hourly chauffeur service at THB 1,500 per hour.

If you are claiming VAT at BKK, mention it at booking — we shift the drop-off to Gate 10 and add 30 minutes to the airport buffer.

On peak BKK pickup days (Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons, holidays), the meeting point moves to Level 4 — watch your confirmation email for the exact spot.

Quick reference checklist: book 3 hours ahead, include flight number, one short stop included, VAT refund drop at Gate 10, peak days move to Level 4, tight connections ask dispatch first

09FAQ

Is the airport fare fixed?
Yes. Airport transfers start from THB 3,000 and the fare is confirmed before your ride. No meter, no surge pricing.
What if my flight is delayed by several hours?
Flight delays do not affect your booking. The chauffeur tracks your flight and adjusts the pickup time. There is no extra charge — the 60 minutes of free waiting after landing extends as needed.
How far in advance should I book?
At least 3 hours before pickup. Earlier bookings give us time to confirm your chauffeur and plan the route. For pickups in less than 3 hours, contact our 24/7 dispatch — same-day bookings are subject to availability.
Can I add multiple stops between airports?
Point-to-point transfers include one short stop (under 15 minutes) at no extra charge — useful for a quick hotel drop or bag handoff. For multiple stops or extended waiting, we recommend our hourly chauffeur service at THB 1,500 per hour.
Do you operate 24/7?
Yes. Bookings and dispatch are available around the clock. Late-night arrivals, early-morning departures, and overnight transfers are all supported.
