01How long the drive takes
Bangkok to Kanchanaburi town is roughly 130 km via Highway 4 and Highway 323 — 2 to 2.5 hours each way off-peak. Sai Yok district resorts sit another 80–120 km west of town, so figure 3.5–4 hours total from Bangkok. Weekend morning departures from Sukhumvit are smoothest. Friday late-afternoon traffic on Route 4 can stretch the run by 45–60 minutes — we plan around it.
02Two destination tiers
Town tier at THB 10,000 covers Bangkok → Kanchanaburi town drop (Bridge over the River Kwai area, FX Kanchanaburi, Royal Riverkwai, riverside hotels near the JEATH Museum). Sai Yok tier at THB 14,000 covers Bangkok → the resort-belt deeper into Sai Yok district: River Kwai Jungle Rafts, FloatHouse River Kwai, River Kwai Resotel, and similar bungalow resorts. Same vehicle, same chauffeur — the longer rate just covers the extra 120 km west of town.
03Why we don't offer same-day return
Kanchanaburi rewards a slower visit. The drive each way is too long for a comfortable same-day round trip plus meaningful exploration. Most guests stay one or two nights at a riverside resort — book the one-way out on arrival day; book a separate return transfer for the day you head back to Bangkok.

- Do you arrange entry tickets?
- No, but tickets are inexpensive and bought on arrival: Erawan National Park is THB 300 (foreigner), JEATH Museum THB 50, Hellfire Pass free with optional donation.
- Can we do the Death Railway scenic train ride?
- Yes — the State Railway runs trains across the Tham Krasae wooden viaduct, west of Kanchanaburi town. Two departures daily from Kanchanaburi station. Easiest setup: we drop you at the resort, then you arrange the train and any local sightseeing through your hotel concierge or a Kanchanaburi-local driver.
